In Zambia’s growing agrifood sector, Green Giraffe is reshaping how we think about snacks, sustainability, and technology. Green Giraffe, a vibrant snack brand with a tech twist, is feeding innovation, empowering farmers, and turning local ingredients into ready-to-eat delights.
More Than Just Snacks
Founded by Mwiche Mukoma, Green Giraffe has established itself as a pioneer in Zambia’s snack food industry. Offering over 40 different snack products sourced from local ingredients, the company goes beyond food production. At its core, Green Giraffe is also a tech company, committed to traceability, sustainability, and the empowerment of smallholder farmers.

With a dedicated packing center, presence in numerous retail outlets, an e-commerce platform, and a growing community of customers, the company is already making a meaningful footprint. Green Giraffe’s recognition at a 2023 tech awards event further validated its innovation-driven model, and its efforts are currently empowering over 200 local farmers.
The ZBAN Connection
Since first pitching to the Zambia Business Angels Network (ZBAN) in late 2022, Green Giraffe has taken full advantage of the network’s support. Across four pitches, the startup not only secured investment and mentorship but also earned valuable visibility and credibility in the investor ecosystem.
The mentorship Green Giraffe received from ZBAN members significantly strengthened the company’s business model and investor readiness. From refining operational strategies to building a solid deal room, these touchpoints helped position Green Giraffe for greater opportunities, leading to wins that extended beyond funding, including global fellowships and increased media attention.

Green Giraffe continues to plan for growth, with eyes set on expanding into over 100 retail outlets, establishing a larger packing facility, and lowering operational costs through bulk packaging. Their goal? To not only feed more people but do it in a way that’s traceable, tech-forward, and globally competitive.
